Our Mission
Our mission is to help build the self-esteem and confidence of foster youth by cultivating a foundation of literacy, personal growth, and development. Santa's Little Helpers, Inc. is dedicated to supporting the needs of foster youth, and foster care alumni as they transition out of foster care and pursue higher education and vocational training.
Who We Serve
We serve Kentucky foster care alumni and foster youth living in residential facilities in Kentucky.

πΏπ SLHI hosted a July Fostering Hope Potluck & Garden Party for the residents of the Boys & Girls Haven Pre-Independent Living Apartments!
Residents enjoyed grilled chicken, brats, homemade sides, and planted flowers to take home and brighten their apartments. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers and SLHI Board Members for cooking, serving, and helping with the planting activity. Special thanks to the incredible Transcend Credit Union team for preparing and serving the meal, and to Home Depot for generously donating the pots and plants.
We are grateful for community partners who help us create meaningful experiences for the young adults we serve. ππ±

Future Forward Program by SLHI
Studies have found that just 3-4% of former foster youth obtain a four-year college degree. And between 2 and 6% receive a two-year degree. (https://nfyi.org/issues/higher-education/)
The Future Forward Program is Santa's Little Helpers, Inc.'s signature initiative dedicated to helping foster youth and former foster youth in Kentucky successfully transition to independent adulthood. Designed for young adults pursuing higher education, vocational training, workforce development, or independent living, the program provides year-round support that helps participants overcome barriers and build a foundation for lifelong success.
Every month, participants receive thoughtfully curated care packages filled with essential household items, hygiene products, food, educational resources, and other necessities that reduce financial stress and allow them to focus on achieving their personal, academic, and career goals.
Future Forward goes beyond meeting immediate needs by providing comprehensive life skills education through interactive workshops and practical resources. Participants gain valuable knowledge in financial literacy, budgeting, cooking and nutrition, health and wellness, career readiness, housing, communication, time management, and other essential skills needed to live independently and confidently.
Our program also creates opportunities for participants to connect with caring volunteers, community partners, and local organizations that provide encouragement, resources, and meaningful experiences throughout the year. By fostering a supportive community, we help young adults build confidence, develop resilience, and create lasting connections that extend beyond the program.
At Santa's Little Helpers, Inc., we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive after foster care. Through the Future Forward Program, we are helping Kentucky foster care alumni build brighter futures by providing the tools, resources, and support they need to become successful, independent adults.
